Detailed Design: Security Forces Medical Centre, Parking Substructures
Kraufner LLC were commissioned by P&T Architects and Engineers to carry out a detailed design of car parking substructures, a parking basement and the adjoining helical ramps, and to prepare reinforced concrete detailing drawings (IFC) and bar bending schedules for all elements under its scope.

Background
The Medical Centres development in Saudi Arabia is the largest healthcare project in the country. Additionally, it is one of the largest projects within a medical sector in the GCC.
The overall development comprises projects in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Each project includes a number of hospital buildings, an academic and clinical centre, research centre, office buildings, service stations, villas, apartments, car parking structures and a host of associated facilities.
Both projects are currently under construction (2021).
Patients & Visitors Car Parking
The structure is a multi-storey car park designed to serve the needs of patients and visitors of the adjoining medical centre. It measures approximately 430m × 195m on plan and comprises two parking levels above and one parking level below the ground. The basement parking measures approximately 135m × 95m on plan.
With average story height of 3.65m, the structure is approximately 7.3m high, measured to the top of structural slab level.
Structural Form
Substructures and shear walls are of cast in-situ reinforced concrete construction. Vertical supports and beams are of precast concrete construction, with post-tensioned precast floor systems.
